I am informing you that we are 42 days away from the solar eclipse that will impact Wyandot, Seneca, and the surrounding counties in Ohio. I want to share with all of you some basic housekeeping items for community members in preparation for this event and some reminders for parents and guardians for school.
Housekeeping items:
Make sure to have plenty of food and water in your house prior to April 5, 2024
Make sure to have your vehicles and gas cans filled with fuel prior to April 5, 2024
Mohawk Local Schools will be CLOSED on Monday, April 8, 2024
Switch your cell phones to wifi calling on Sunday, April 7, 2024
Postpone any deliveries to your house from April 5, 2024-April 8, 2024
Actual eclipse timeline of events for us on April 8, 2024:
Start of the partial eclipse: 1:57 p.m.
Totality of the eclipse: 3:11 p.m.
Totality of the eclipse ends: 3:15 p.m.
End of the eclipse: 4:27 p.m.
The following days and educational format for Mohawk Local Schools PreK-12 for the solar eclipse:
Friday, April 5, 2024-Mohawk Local Schools will be OPEN for in-person learning.
Monday, April 8, 2024-Mohawk Local Schools will be CLOSED.
Tuesday, April 9, 2024-Mohawk Local Schools will be OPEN for in-person learning, but this is subject to change due to the circumstances around the district at the time.
