Dear Families, Community Members, Faculty and Staff,
To follow up on my previous communications, our first responders have thoroughly searched our campus inside the building and outside the surrounding area. They determined that the loud noise that was reported by our staff members was not any kind of weapon, but instead a student’s bicycle tire that unfortunately popped inside the building, creating an echo throughout the hallways.
Our staff members did exactly what we asked them to do, which is to always report anything unusual that they see or hear. Our planning and practicing of our Level 3 Lockdown and School Evacuation procedures worked to ensure the safety and security of our students and staff. We create these plans and procedures hoping to never use them. Now that we have used them, I want to thank our entire school community for following them and appreciate our family members for keeping calm under these circumstances. I also want to thank the first responders for their quick response and attention to detail. Their professionalism is an asset to our community.
Because there is no threat to anyone, we will operate on a regular schedule on Tuesday.
Again, it is during a time of challenge that we all came together to ensure the safety and security of our students and staff members. For that, I am extremely grateful.
Thank you all,
Jeffery A. Holbrook
